What happened to the Chronicle?

The LeCompte Chronicle for Christmas 2005 never hit the streets, and was apparently missed by some of it's readers. Well, for that, I apologise. It had been an absolutely hectic few months prior to Christmas and it still hasn't slowed down.

The good news is that all's well. Bud has been continuing to expand his bass building business, otherwise known as LeCompte Electric Bass and has just handed his notice in at his office job where he did the civil engineering CAD work... that he loathed. A previous employer, who Bud designed houses for, called up and said he had enough work to sink a battle ship. So that was the perfect transition that Bud needed to step out of the office and back home where he can work on houses some of the time and basses the rest of the time. Thank you Lord! We continue to be amazed at how much we have been blessed.

It works out perfectly as we won't have to worry about child care for Kurtis while I'm at work in the ten week summer break. I still can't get over that... TEN WEEKS!

So, I will continue at my PT job, which I love, and Bud will do his thing at home.

Now then, Kurtis is just getting smarter and more obnoxious by the day. Haha. No really, he is obnoxious, but only when I'm tired and can't cope with his fully charged enthusiasm and energy. He is doing super well at school, in 1st grade and reading at 3rd and 4th grade level. He has his own computer and is eating the learning software that is being thrown at him. He is such a joy, so much fun and we laugh a lot. Our house has a lot of laughter, which is another blessing.

I've just noticed how late it is, so I shall stop my attempt at catching up with my chronicling and get back to it another day. I have my bird flu blog to get into as well. That will have to wait until tomorrow. Till next time.

Blogging again

So much for dedicated blogging. I'm so good at keeping this blog up to date - NOT - that I decided to start another dedicated to bird flu. I will be posting some basics about what to do for prepareness and time permitting, I might start posting about the latest outbreaks. We'll see... that will probably want to get me back into my Google Earth mapping of H5N1 cases and I don't have that much time. AND, I'm supposed to be working on Bud's auto-quote-o-matic database. He spends way to much time writing quotes and I'm going to automate the whole thing and have a web interface for a database driven quote system. Thrills and spills around here, let me tell ya!

This just had to be snapped. Only my friends in England would really appreciate the comedy value that we have here.

I was speeding along the outside lane (left in the U.S.), approaching this van, and as I was almost overtaking it, the urge to take a pic was overwhelming. In order to achieve this, I had to slow down, reach in my purse for the cell phone and try not to wreck the car all at the same time. It just so happened we were also approaching a toll booth, so the van was slowing down even more. To get close enough to snap the pic, I had to brake quite hard to get in the right position. The driver must have sensed that the peculiar activity by the driver of the maroon PT cruiser must have had something to do with him... so he slowed down even more! Good grief man, never mind what I'm doing, I just want to take a picture to share with my friends who have the same sick sense of humour as me!

So there you have it. Spazz furniture :-)

So, we get to church and discover that there is no Sunday school because it's New Years Day. Bud is playing in the 11 o'clock service so he had to be there early, consequently, Kurtis and I have an hour to kill. I'd go on the jungle gym if I was allowed. Oh well, tum de dum.
